Chardonnay Granit 2025
East of Schrattenthal lies the Kalvarienberg vineyard, characterized by granite, at the summit of which the crucifixion of Jesus is depicted. Our vineyard slopes westward toward the village and has only a thin layer of loess in the lower section, while the upper part is very barren. The Chardonnay thrives in this vineyard. We planted this vineyard with French Chardonnay vines from mass selection and harvest fully ripe grapes year after year.
- Delicately fragrant with fresh pineapple and biscuit, with subtle woody notes. Needs a little time in the glass, but then reveals hints of ripe exotic fruits, a touch of banana, dense fruit, and mineral spice, with very fine, lively acidity, subtle woody notes, juicy depth, and a magnificent, fresh, and harmonious finish.
- An ideal accompaniment to fish and shellfish, hearty pasta dishes—even with rich sauces—as well as to fine offal such as veal liver, veal kidneys, or sweetbreads.
